Press Office, Thursday. The Land sold at the Waste Lands Board yesterday, amounted to 119 acres, realising £238. It is situated in the following districts: — Oxford 35 0 0 Waitangi 50 0 0 Timaru 34 0 0
Mr H. E. Alport reports upon the sales of live stock made at the Canterbury Saie Yards, Addiugton, on Wednesday last, as follows :—Both ot cattle and sheep there was a fair supply of all descriptions, and prices were well maintained. Fat cattle were more readily taken than of late. Good quality heavy steers brought £-9 5s per head; medium weights, heifers. £6 5s to £61756 d. Prime beef can be quoted at 25a per loolbs. Good dairy cows sold at from £5 10s. to £8 5s ; quiet steers and heifers, twelve to eighteen months old, from sls to 62s 6d; station do, 43s 6d; station cows and heifers, £3 to £3 2s 6d. Fat sheep showed a slight improvement. Weighty two-tooth half-bred wethers sold for 12s 6d and 13s 6d; medium weights, 10s and lis; halfbred ewes, lis; prime fat lambs.7s to 98; weaners do, 4s 4d; half-bred store wethers, 5s 9d to 9s; good quality merino do, 5b 3d; old merino ewes. 3s and 3s 6d; inferior ewes and lambs given in, 5s 3d.
