CRICKET.

A return match was played on Tuesday last, on the Ellesmete cricket ground, near Southbridge, between elevens chosen out of the Woolston and Ellesmere Cricket Clubs. Mr Willis officiated as captain of tbe E.C.C. eleven, and Mr Monck acted in the same capacity for the Woolston team. The trip to Southbridge and back was made by the Woolston eleven in one day in a drag and four, driven by Mr E. W. Millett, and thanks to the favorable • weather, and the hearty reception accorded them, a most enjoyable excursion was experienced. No very big scores were obtained on either side, but on tbe whole some very good play was shown by several members of both elevens, the fielding of the Ellesmere men, for a country team, being really first class. Subjoined is a detail of the scores obtained, which shows that the victory resulted this time in favor of the E.C.C, with 18 runs to spare. WOOLSTON ELEVEN. First Innings. Second Innings.
