The brigantine Augusta finished discharging yesterday morning, and hauled out in the stream, Her destination is the Bay ot Islands, to which port she sails shortly. The s,B Mullough steamed alongside the breastwork, and took on board during the day at least 250 bales of wool, which was traushipped into the ship Duke of Edinburgh. The schooner Florence was berthed at the Gladstone Pier yesterday ruoruing, and commenced to discharge. The schooner Albatross finished discharging' yesterday morning, and hauled oil". Her destination is Wangapoa, to which port she sails as soon as possible. She gops in ballast trim. The brigantine Helena was berthed at the Breastwork yesterday morning, and commenced to discharge. After discharging, she is notified to sail for Auckland. The schooner E. U. Cameron this trip to Akaroa takes a cargo of coals, consisting of 15 tons, shipped by A. Laurie. She sailed last evening. The schooner Alert finished takiag in her outward cargo, consisting mostly of bricks, and hauled off. Her destination is Greymouth, to which port she sails shortly. The schooner Richard and Mary hauled into Peacock's Wharf yesterday afternoon, and commenced to discharge her inward cargo, consisting Of 35,000 feet timber. The s.s Beautiful Star is notified to sail for Akaroa, Timaru, and Port Chalmers, on January 11th. The b.B Bruce leaves for South this afternoon. The s.s Taranaki, for Northern Ports, and Phoebe, for South, sailed last evening. The ketch Emerald, Captain Whitby, sailed for Picton, via Wellington, on Tuesday night last, but returned to port yesterday morning. A barque, supposed to be either the Rose M from Sydney, or Sunbeam, from Boston, was signalised last night. The schooner Reward, for Akaroa, sails to-day. The schooner Canterbury was berthed at the west side of No 2 Wharf yesterday morning, and commenced to discharge. The s.B Southern Cross will return to port about the beginning of next week, from Dunedin. During her stay in that port she has been placed on the slip to receive necessary repairs. She leaves here for Auckland and Fiji about Wednesday, the 13th. We notice ia to-day's telegrams that the barque John Knox from Lyttelton arrived in Sydney on the 29th December. After discharging and taking in her outward carjro fhere she returns to port. The brig Fawn left Newcastle for Lyttelton on December 28th, coal laden; therefore she may be expected to arrive daily. A brig supposed to be the Albion, from Auckland, timber laden, arrived last night. The barque Syreu was accommodated with a berth on the east side of No 2 wharf. She will break bulk this morning, her cargo consists of timber. The 8.8. Bruce, Captain McFarlane, arrived in harbor yesterday morning at 1t.30 a.m., from Dunedin, via Timaru and Akaroa. The purser reports that he left the Railway pier. Port C haimers, on the 4th instant at 7 p.m. Arrived at Timaru 5 a.m. on the sth; discharged 50 tons general cargo, and took in 402 bales wool, and left again at 7 p.m. Arrived in Akaroa at 5 a.m. on the 6th, discharged part of her cargo, and left at 0.30 a.m. She ex- i perienced light westerly winds until arrival. The s.B. Phcebe, Captain Worsp, arrived in harbor yesterday at 2.30 p.m., from Northern ports. She j left .Onehunga at 3.15 p.m. on the Ist January, with strong N.E. by E. winds ; heavy squalls and rain. Arrived at Taranaki at 1 p.m. on the 2nd; left a<£am at L2O p.m. the same day, with fresh S.W. winds and'cloudy weather. Was otT Cape Egmont at 4 a.m. on the 3rd. Arrived at Nelson at 5.15 a.m., left again 4.45 p.m. on the 4th, with light S. VV. winds. Arrived at Picton at 1.10 a.iv. on the sth; left at 1.45 a._u. Arrived at Wellington at 8.30 a.m.; left again 6 p.m. same day. Passed the s.s. Easby at the Heads, from Sydney. Experienced light N.E. and arrived as above, we have to thank tho purser for files and this report.
