The barque Natal Queen arrived iv harbor last evening from Hobart Town. Messrs McMeckan, Blackwood, and Co's wellknown s.B. Gothenburg, Captain Pearce, arrived and was berthed at the Gladstone wharf at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The " Daily Times " says.—" "We were pleased' to see the familiar old boat again, and failed not to observe that since she was last here various alterations had been effected in her passenger accommodation, for which she is all the Better. Originally the Gothenburg had her firstelass accommodation aft. tbe saloon was amidships, and the officers were berthed att. All this has been altered, by reducing the size of the midship saloon, and constructing another aft; whilst the officers are accommodated in houses on deck. The new saloon is commodious and tastefully arranged. and, together with the midship saloon, accommodation for sixty passengers has been provided. The seoond-class accommodation has also been renovated and improved. The Gothenburg has for a long time been running between Melbourne and the Northern Territory of Australia, and has been taken off the line but for this trip only, in consequence ot the steamers Coorong ana Omeo being laid up to receive new boilers and a general overhaul The alteration she has undergone has reduced her tonnage a little, for whereas she formerly registered 610 tons, she is now 501 tons. She brought six passengers from Melbourne and [fourteen from the Bluff, lind 115 tons of carsro from the former port. We are indebted to Mr Crotty, the purser, for our Melbourne exchanges and the report, which sets forth how the Gothenburg left Hobson's Bay on the 30th September at 3 p.m., cleared the Heads at 5.30 p.m., passed Wilson's Promontory at 6 am. on the Ist inst, and cleared the Strait at 3.20 p.m. the same day. The strong easterly winds which had prevailed so far there gave place to westerly weather. The wind veered and hauled between N.W. and S.W., and brought up severe rain, hail, and sleet squalls, and so continued to tbe laud, which was sighted at the Solander on the sth lust., at 6.30 p.m. The steamer ran until she was abreast of Dog Island, and then hove-to for tbe night, and at daylight on the 6th entered Bluff Harbour. Disembarked passengers, mails, and cargo, and left j again at 4 p.m.; carried a strong S.W. breeze along { the ooast, aud arrived and was berthed at the Port Chalmers railway pier at 8 a.m. on the 7th." Left again at 5 a.m. on the 9th. .Experienced light N.E. winds and smooth water, arriving off Kakanui same day, and loaded 700 bags grain. Left for Lyttelton at 8 p.m., and had light winds and moderate weather till arrival as above. She brings 90 tons general cargo, and will sail for North tomorrow.

The ship Rodney, says the " Age," which arrived at Melbourne on September 26th from London, is one of the finest and handsomest looking- clippers that has ever visited these waters. t and it is no exaggeration to state that her passenger accommodation is unsurpassed by any ship or steamer afloat, and its equal has never been seen iv these waters. r The saloon is a very highly decorated apartment, and extends the whole length of the poop, which is a very long one, and the state rooms are fitted up regardless of expense, even to their having in each • a handsome chest of drawers, together with all other furniture requisite for even the most fastidious. While so much has been done to please the first-class passengers, the second and third cabins were not forgotten, and everything that could tend to make those places healthy aud comfortable is perceptible at a glance. The ship herself is also a magnificent specimen of naval architecture. She was launched only a few months ago from the build-ing-yard of Mr W.
