CITY OF AGRA FROM LONDON.
This fine iron clipper ship, commanded b] Captain Youbg, was signalled on Thursday afternoon, the ; wind being S.W. she had t< biihg-bponlßide.the heads. She came Up t( aififaachdrHge off Rhodes Bay yesterday moving; ■havitig made the passage in seventy six days from Gravesend. The vessel is i fine model,;ahd has made several rapid pas gages from London to Melbourne, and look ing at her lines,- witha good breeze would maifr' some good running. During her 1 passage to Canterbury, al though hei speed at times exceeded ten knots, yet she was unable to couie up to, or equal, bei former exploits. She brings no emigrants, bul has a full complement of passengers Hiving- no"immigrants on board she was cleared i_y the Health Officer; Dr Donald Captain. Young reports that be left Graves endon r March lOthr; ; landed the pilot on the ll*b, and pas-edlhie Lizard on the 12tb ; bad briskMN'R trades,' and passed inside the Capt de Verdes, and crossed tbe Equator in 26 deg Won the Btst March : experienced moderate S. E. trades, and encountered a heavy S.E. gale on .April 21st, which continued until the' 27th, daring which time the sea struck the vessel, carrying away a portion oi her topgallant bulwarks and flooding the decks, vessel rolling heavily ; passed the meridian of the Cape on the 24th April in _0$ deg S. Passed Cape Lewin in 48 deg S, 60>4ays 3 out. May 15th, when off the Tasmanian coast encountered very severe gales from iN.B. to S.E. Passed the Snares at 8 a.m. on the 26th, and was off the Peninsula next evening, arriving as above. If-t. following testimonial was presented by thd passengers, and elicited a suitable reply^ "To Captain^Soung,—Dear Sir,—We the undersigned passengers from London to Canterfeury, New Zealand, desire to express our cordial thanks to you for the kindness and universal courtesy which you have shown to eachand all of us during the passage. We feel that, we have been excessively fortunate in Bailing with a commander who by his skill and ability has caused us to feel every confidence in him, and has also done so much to contribute towards our welfare and enjoyment. In conclusion, we trust you may be spared to enjoy many years of happiness and prosperity." Signed by all the passengers.
