CIVIL CASES. Holmes v. Parkinson. Claim, £19 5s lid ; Mr H.N. Nalder for plaintiff, Mr Duncan for defendant ; a set-off of £3 15s was put in, and £8 17s was paid into court. After hearing evidence, judgment was given for amount paid into court. Fleming* v. Mr Duncan for plaintiff, Mr Joynt for defendant: claim £50, damage done to sheep by defendant's dogs. From the evidence of the plaintiff, it appears that on December 16th he saw two strange dogs on his freehold and in his paddocks chasing his sheep. He; caught one dog and he followed the other three miles. Seven sheep vi ere dead, and fourteen died afterwards. These were fifty lambs killed. He estimated the cost at £100, but agreed to take £50. After hearing the witnesses. ' judgment was given for £30, and costs £3 ; 1 professional fee, £2 2s. ; Alexander Reed v Captain Hobbs—Claim £7, was for a month's wages. Mr H. N. Nalder for plaintiff.
