The mail news is unsatisfactory, as an advance has taken place upon nearly every article, and orders remain unexecuted. Timber in the Baltic has advanced considerably. Flooring deals and logs are much dearer. Wheat, 5s 7d to 5s Sd ; oats, 3s 9d to 4s. Kerosene is in moderate request at ls B_d for Devoes. Sugar? are very firm. Kauri gum is dull and easier. Fine transparent, 100s ; pale clear, 67s to 775. Hemp is quiet at a decline of £1 per ton, and scarcely any demand.
