High water at Lyttelton for the month of March, 1873 :— Date. a m. p.m. * 22 ... 10.51 ... 31.21 23 ... 11.52 ... 00.52
The barque Pet, Captain Rapp, arrived in harbor yesterday from Newcastle. She left that port on the 26th ult, and experienced a .succession of easterly winds. She brings a cargo of coals consigned to Messrs Montgomery and Co. The brig Fawn, Captain Anderson, arrived in harbor yesterday from Newcastle. She left on the Ist instant; had thick NE weather the first four days ; had light easterly winds, followed by NE gales, to making the land, which was made on the 11th ; had variable winds to Stephen's Island, where a strong SE gale was encountered ; had to take refuge under the Island, in company with the Haversham add Brecon Castle, bound for Wellington ; spoke the Cleopatra and Lady Don oft Farewell Spit, on Friday last. She brings a cargo of coals consigned to Captain R. Wood.
A barque, supposed to be the Lallah Rook, from Newcastle, was signalled yesterday afternoon, but had not arrived when our reporter left.
