MA GISTRATES' COURT.
CHRISTCHURCH. Friday. December 13. [Before (' C. Bnwen. Esq. KM.] Drunkenness a.yd Indecency — John Williams (seventh conviction within twelve months), was sentenced to three months imprisonment with hard labor. Drunk and Disorderly—William Brady (seventh conviction) was sentenced to one month's imprisonment. KAIAPOT. Friday, December 13. [Before G. L. Mellish, Esq. R.M.) FELONY—William Bramley farmer, Flaxton, was charged with stealing a bullock, the property of J- Ball, publican, Woodend. Accused said he was quite innocent of the offence. On the application of the police a remand was granted till to-day, for the attendance of the witnesses, some of them from the West Coast. Accused was admitted to bail, himself under a boud of £50, and one surety of £50. LEITHFIELD. Wednesday, December 11. (Before G. L. Mellish, Esq., R.M.) DRUNKENNESS — Michael Hennessy was charged, by the police with having been drunk and disorderly. Fined 10s and costs. Fighting—David Rrown and T. Kusse!.' were charged with having been fighting in a licensed public-honse. As it appeared that Brown was at fault, he was fined 10s, and ordered to pay costs 17s 3d ; the defendant Russell being dismissed. Slaughter License—The application of J. Glendining was granted. Civil Cases—Several were entered in the plaint-book, but were settled out of Court.
