ARTILLERF V. CITY GUARDS. This match took place yesterday at the Heathcote range, and resulted in a victory for the Artillery by seven points. There is, however, a little matter in dispute owing to the pull of a rifle borrowed from a member of the City Guards by one of the Artillery team. The conditions were, ten men on each side; ranges, 200, 300, aud 400 yards ; five shots at each rantre, any position, regulation targets. The following were the scores :— ABTILLERY.
The last competition for the medals presented by Mr Vincent to the battery, takes place on Wednesday next, and the competition for the medals presented by Mr Moore Will take place early in January, as also the match with the Kaiapoi Company (No. 5 C.R.V.)
