MARVELLOUS RECOVERY.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sib, —The following unprecedented circumstance in the history of vaccination ought to be recorded for the benefit of the profession and the public generally. Large numbers of the parishioners and congregation of St. Michael's were suffering so severely, it is presumed from the effects of recent vaccination, that scarcely four or five were able to attend a church meeting which had been convened for Wednesday evening last to meet the Bishop of the Diocese, and a deputation from the church work extension committee; but on the following evening, wonderful to relate, when the temperature was a few degrees higher, and an attractive entertainment had been advertised, the patients had so far recovered that the same room was filled to overflowing, and there was pot even standing room. The question is suggested whether something else was not cold in St. Michael's parish on Wednesday evening besides the weather. Tours, incisively, Lancet. Christchurch, August 16, 1872.
