■The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed
The amount received since last meeting was £25.
> -The following borrespondehce was read ; — From Mr Ellisdon, asking Council to attend to footpath near his shop. ■ ;:•■ It was.decided ; that a-few loads of gravel be placed on the path. From Mr Kerr, relative to a slip near his house.
It was referred to the Works Committee.
Some discussion took place relative to fixing the day for hearing objections to the rate roll. It was resolved that no day be fixed at present. The Mayor was requested to see the Resident Magistrate, and endeavour to fix the day,for hearing appeals at the Court.

The Borough Surveyor's report read and considered... r ,~. It was decided that no notice be taken of the; notice giving virtually to the Surveyor to rempvelfhe; atdhle Vand'Clay from the reclaimed land until a written one be sent in.
. The Subvetqe reported that the culvert under the Sumrier' road near Mr Nalder's house required immediate attention. The Works Committee said they had: intended bringing up a report, but had been forestalled by the Surveyor. They thought the culvert might last until: the fine weather'set in, and there were no funds for the Council to make a good job of it. , The subject was allowed to drop.
It was decided that the Council was not in funds to lay the drain from the Court-house house across Oxford street.
A loug discussion tookplace relative to the culvert near Mr Child's workshop.
It was resolved that steps be taken to place it in a condition of safety, and that the Surveyor see what repairs are necessary.
It was resolved that the stone channeling on the north side of London street be relaid.
I , Mf Harrison's application for a piece of ground near the waterman's boat-house, was left \to the Estates Committee to report upon. Messrs Weyburne andCo.'s account for the contract price of the culvert and for extras, was handed in, certified by the Surveyor, as follows — , i ...... .... £ s. d. Main contract ... ...
