A telegram in to-day's issue informs us ivhat work the Superintendent of Nelson proposes to the Council, The following extract from a Nelson contemporary chows that those works have received the support, jf the General Government:—" The visit of iis Honor the Superintendent to Wellington has, we are glad to learn, beenjattended with success, the Ministry having expressed their willingness to support the construction of a railway from the B runner mine to the River mouth, as well as from Nelson to Foxhill. They are also prepared to advocate a loan for gas works for the town of Nelson, and for the extension, of our present system of waterworks."
