THE objects aimed at by this Associatoin are the preparation of the Phormium Tenax in a more marketable state than has hitherto been attained, and the prosecution of a series of carefully conducted experiments with a view to discover the best method by which the fibre can be rendered more fit for manufacturing purposes. The Committee invite the co-operation of all parties interested in the growth and production of flax, in furthering the objects of the A ssociation, the importance of which, to the welfare of this province, and to New Zealand generally, cannot be over-estimated ; it is therefore, with the utmost confidence, they appeal to all classes of the community to assist their efforts with liberality.
