Sydney.—We have papers to the 10th. The " Sydney Morning Herald " of that date reports: —The stock and share market remains very inactive. City Bank are offered at 11; Joint Stock at 8, with buyers at B|. Debentures are not too plentiful, and prices are unchanged. There is more business doing in the import markets, and quotations generally close more favorably to holders. The advanced rates recently noticed in candles, rum, brandies, geneva, cornsacks, 'sardines, and a few other articles have been maintained. In breadstuff's, buyers are only operating for immediate wants, as it is thought that present stocks are so large that no great improvement in prices can take place for some time. Adelaide flour is quoted at £16 10s for leading brands, and £14 10s for outside brands, which does not show any alteration in prices reported last ■week. In Victorian the market is 8411 firm at from £13 to £13 10s. Oalifornian flour, £12. Since last week the millers have advanced Sydney mill silk-dressed flour to £15, being fully 10a a ton higher than last quotations.
