SIR COLIN CAMPBELL, The property of James Walb, Kaiapoi Island Sir Colin Campbell is a Dark Dapple Cheanut, rising five years old ; stands 152 hands, with tremendous bone and substance, good action, and fine mild temper ; he has proved himself a sure foal getter, and has won Throe First Prizes. PEDIGREE— Sir Colin Campbell was got by the wellknown horse King Fergus, out of the celebrated mare Scotland's Pride. King Fergus was got by Lord Byron, the property of Mr Proudfoot, Dumfries-shire, who gained the firßt prize of £40 at Annan when four yoars old. Lord Byron was got by old Princo Royal, who gained the first prize at Aberdeen, and also at Johnston. King Fergus was bred by Mr Muir, Kirkcudbrightshire, out of his prize mare, which was bred by Mr Frame, Clydesdale King Fergus gained seven first prizes in 1860, and he had the first prize as being the best animal of tho horse kind at the great show at Hamilton. Scotland's Pride was got by the celebrated Clydesdale horse Lofty, out of the well known Smythston stock. Lofty was the property of Mr Samuel Clark, and gained the premium at Glasgow, open to all Scotland. Scotland's Pride gained the premium of the Highland Society's Show in 1861 as a three year old. She has also gained five first prizes in Canterbury. Sir Colin Campbell will stand at Mr J. Page's Stables, Christchurch, on Tuesdays and Saturdaj's ; at the Seven Mile Peg on Wednesdays and Fridays ; at the Kaikainui, at Kaiapoi, on Thursdays. TERMS : Five guineas per mare, and five shillings groomage, payable on the Ist of January, 1871. Groomage to be paid on service. Mares limited. Paddocks, 2s per week per mare; every care taken but no responsibility. J. WALLS, 927 Proprietor. Quicksilver is a chesnut roan, of excellent temper and constitution, bred by Mr James Coker, Downham, near L*nn, Norfolk, got by old Prickwillow, champion of England. His dam by Old Merrilegs, by Lottery, grandaire, Performer. Great grandaire, Pretender. Young Pretender, Quicksilver's own brother, obtained the first prize at the Royal Agricultural Show at Leeds, and afterwards sold for £750 'o go to France.
