ARRIVAL OF THE ENGLISH MAIL AT THE BLUFF.
I The Bluff, April 22. The Omeo, with mails from England, arrived at the wharf ot 6 30 this morning ; she left Melbourne on 16th, passed through Port Phillip Heads at 6 15 p m same day, and Swan Island at 5p m the following day. She experienced light variable winds on the run down j made Preservation Inlet at 2 p m on the 21st, and arrived off the Heads at 10 p m last night; Bhe entered the port at daylight this morning ; she will sad for Dunedin and Northern Ports to-night. Passengers— Dunedin—Mr and Mrs Campbell, Captain and Mrs Barry, Miss McLaren, Mr H Harper, Mr McKenzie, Mr Bmith, Mr R S Dods, Mr John Oliver Eva. For Wellington—Mr Watkins ; 11 in the steerage for Otago, and 21 for Northern Ports. Cargo list—Dunedin, 70 tons ; Lyttelton, 70 tons ; Wellington, 50 tons; Auckland, 4 tons j Wanganui, 2 tons; Napier, 25 tons. London, Feb 25. Flax is depressed ; part dressed, £19 ; fair, £25 ; fine, £31. Mr Noble reports that the last sales show a better feeling. Rev Mr Jenner has re-entered upon his living at Preston, Kent. Colonial securities are firm. New Zealand Six Per Cent*, 1891, £107 to £109 ; do Five Per Cents, £97 to £98 ; Five Consolidated, to £98.\ ; Six, March and September, £108 and £110 ; Six, June and December, £107 to £109. New Zealand Bank, £18 to £19. Negotiations are progressing for the amalgamation of the Otago Bank with the English, Scottish and Australian Chartered Bank. Bir George Grey has been elected a director of the latter Bank. Wheat, £36 to £43—(?) 36s to 43s per quarter.
