NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Government Insurance and Annuities offices, under "The Government Annuitios Act, 1869," have been opened at the Chief Post Officee at Auckland, New Plymouth, Napier, Wellington, Nelson, Blenheim, Christchurch, Dunedin, and Invercargill, and at the Post Offices at Hokitika, Greymouth, Westport, and Charleston. All persons wishing to obtain Annuities, immediate or deferred, Life Insurances, or other advantages under this Act, will receive every information and the necessary forms on application at either of the above-named officee. THE PROVINCIAL GOVEENMENT is PBEPAEED to BECEIVE PROPOSALS for the CONSTRUCTION of a RAILWAY to the north, from the western side of Christcburoh, in accordance with the resolutions of the Provincial Council of last session. The Government hae in hand a sum of £50,000, which is available towards the purchase of land, and the construction of the work. Particulars will shortly be prepared as to the Cost of the purchase of land on alternative lines. Also, on the same day after the completion of sale of the town, a number of Suburban Sections situate in the immediate neighbourhood of the township, varying in size from one acre to ten and a half acres, will be offered foraale. I HEREBY GIVE NOTICE, pursuant to Clause VI. of "The Canterbury" Waste Lands Act, 1866," that an application has been lodged in the Lands Office, Chrietchurch, by William Newton Milton, as holder of Pasturage License No, 232, Class 3, to have the said license cancelled, and in lieu thereof, to have two licensee issued by the Waste Lands Board for different portions of the lands held; under the eaid license; one of which ehall be in the name of William Newton Milton, and the other in the name of James Alexander Cunningham, as the said separate portions are delineated on a plan attached to the said application. If any person can show cause why euch application as aforesaid should not be granted, the same must bo made known to the Waste Lands Board before Monday, the 25th April, 1870.
