CRICKET.

A friendly cricket match between eleven employes of the •' Times " and " Press " took place on Saturday last, on Cranmer sqnare. The " Times " having won the toss sent their opponents to the wicket. After some very fair play had been shown by several of the players, they succeeded in putting together 44, amongst which were five 2's, two 3's, and one 4, the remainder being made up from singles, &c. The '* Times " Eleven then went in, and only managed to reach the low score of 13 before the fall of their last wicket. They then followed on their second innings ; but in this, as in their first innings, the fielding and bowling of the "Press" team was too good for them, and at the termination of the innings, they required one more run in order to make up the number obtained by their opponents in their first innings, leaving tho " Press" victorious by one innings and one run. A return match will shortly be played, when we hope to see much better play evinced on both sides, as there appeared plenty of room for improvement, the want of practice being being very apparent. The following is the score : — "PBESS" ELEVEN. Ist Innings.
