I HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that in pursuance of tbe "Municipal Corporations Act, 1867, Section 113," I appoint THURSDAY, the SEVENTH day of OCTOBER NEXT, for the purpose of electing one person, being duly qualified to act as a COUNCILLOR for the BOROUGH of KAIAPOI, to fill the VACANCY occasioned by the resignation of Mr Henry Middleton. In pursuance of Section 83 of the said Act, I require all Candidates at such ELECTION to be NOMINATED at the Council Chamber, within the Borough aforesaid, on WEDNESDAY the TWENTY-SECOND day of this instant September, at the hour of Noon. . And I require that any person desirous of nominating a Candidate shall, before four of the clock in the afternoon of TUESDAY, the TWENTY-FIRST day of this instant September cause to be delivered to mc a nomidation paper, in the form in the Ninth Schedule to the said Act, or to the like effect, stating therein the christian and surname of such Candidate, together with the other particulars required in and by tho said Schedule. And such nomination paper shall be signed by not less than three persons duly qualified to vote at such Election, and also signed by the person named therein as a Candidate in token of his assent to being so named.
