[FROM OUB OWN COBBESPONDENT.] Wellington, July 12, 7.10 p.m. At Waipawa, Hawke's Bay, great rejoicings took place at the removal of the Stafford Ministry. There were bonfires, fireworks, and illuminations, i and effigies of late Ministry publicly burned. The sittings of the Native Lands Court to determine the question of the Manawatu purchase commenced to-day. Mr Travers appeared for the dissentients, and the Attorney-General for the G-overnmerit. ; Tenders have been called for the moval of the 18th Eegiment from the other provinces to Auckland. Mr T. B. Gillies is here. It is said that it is in contemplation to call him to the Council with the office of Solicitor General. The Opposition held a caucus this afternoon to consider the measures to !be pursued with reference to the policy of the Government. Meesrs Caddell and Broad, wardens, at the Thames, have resigned. The blades of the Keera's screw were all snapped off by a snag in the Wanr ganui river.
