Tuesday, Mat li. [Before Mr Justice Gresson.] BB JOHH HBNBY OATON. Mr Slater moved, on the petition of Mary Gertrude Fletcher and W. H. Lane, for an order of adjudication, and the appointment of a meeting of creditors. His Honor granted a rule on Caton to shew cause within ten days why he should not surrender, and an order of adjudication isflued. ' . . XtL3£BBS. MQOJ&B. Bankrupt in person obtained an order of adjudication, the meeting of creditors' being fixed for 19th May, at 2 p.m. ' " 'BB EDWABD WILLIAM HEDGE. Mr Slater, for Garrick, obtained an order fixing the day for final examination and discharge, for 10th June. BB DAVTD BCOTT. Adjourned meeting from 6th May. Mr Wynn Williams for the bankrupt. Mr Cottrell for, two creditors, Messrs Beeoe and jFyfe, and the trustee. ~, . ! Mrs Janet Neilson, examined by Mr Cottrell —I have had money, transactions with bankrupt," Xlent him money-. I lent in the whole about £890. That has all been repaid in various ways. Bankrupt bought household furniture,, for me,.;and paid for it to: nearly the amount of £200. That was soon after I came out here. The price of that furniture came off the money which he owed mc. Bankrupt gave £50 for furniture for my daughter with my consent. £200 was sent to mc when I went to the farm. Bankrupt also paid £52 10a for a piano for my daughter ; he also paid £80 or £90 for enlarging Richmond House. The whole of the money lent by mc .to Scott was repaid by him in the manner I have mentioned. By Mr Wynn Williams—The account given to mc by Mr Scott, amounting to £902, is correct. By Mr Cottrell—l had no letter from Mr Scott since his bankruptcy, but my son had ; that letter rendered the accounts respecting tbe money lent to him ; I gave security to Mr Ashcroft on a bill given by the bankrupt to mc as an accommodation for mc ; that bill was dishonoured,'and my cattle had to be Bold onder a bill of sale which I gave to Ashcroft j *» security terbim. Ashcroft would not take a cottage, but took my bill of sale instead. Mr Cottrell said that the Trustee would not bare forced on this examination had it not beeu~for a letter he had received from Mr Ashcroft, stating that Mrs Neilson. had said we had arranged with bankrupt for the money<dufr.to her. Mr Williams said that Mr Ashcroft had got the cattle, and now wanted to brove under the bill on Bcott'e,estate Wynn Williams—l still owe Ashcroft something, but I do not know how much.
