Government Notices. LOCAL MANUFACTURES. THE PROVINCIAL COUNCIL having ! 1 authorised a sum of £3000 to be ex-1 pended in PREMIUMS for the encouragement of the Manufacture of Woollen Clothe and Beet Boot Sugar, and of local industries, the Provincial Government is desirous of rej ceiving applications from any person or persons who may be prepared to establish Manufactures of the kind proposed. The Government will be ready to enter into | an engagement with persons who will afford a I satisfactory guarantee of their ability to carry out any such undertaking to leave the bonus open to be claimed by them within a specified time. The Premiums offered are — For 5000 yards of woollen cloth ... £1000 For the manufacture of 100 tons of good marketable sugar from Beet Root grown in the province £1000 For the establishment of a Manufactory for the Export of Preserved Fresh Meat, the sum to be paid on the Government being satisfied that not less than 100 tons have been exported, and that there is a reasonable prospect of the manufactory being a permanent success ... ... ...£IOOO Applications will be received until noon of the Ist day of July, 1869.
