RITUALISM.
Irish Church questions have been thrown into the background by the controversies respecting ritualism, and the late decision of the Privy Council. The judgment is seen to cover more ground than was at first suspected, and to affect all parties within the Church. The Ritualists protest, and agree to preach more emphatically than ever the doctrine of the real presence ; the Evangelicals are divided ; and the party which would separate the Church from the State grows daily stronger in the midst of these divisions.
