RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Chb-STCHPBCH —March 24. (Beforo C. C. Bowen, Esq., 8.M.) LABCENY. John Crad.oc-, John Wright, William gMSce Eobert Wheeler, and Charles Lunnon, firTyoung boys, were charged with stealing some cricket bata and balls from the tent of the Albion Cricket Club in Hagley Park. Tho police withdrew the charge against InianoD, who stated that he saw Wright, Craddock, and Spence, playing with tho property. Two other witnesses were called, and the Bench discharged Wheeler, and ordered that the other three prisoners should be locked up until six o'clock and well whipped. civil CASES. Louisson and Luckie, as Trustees in Estate of B. Simpson v Lizzie Harding. Dr Foster appeared for the plaintiff, Mr Wynn Williams for the defendant. This was a claim of £53 13s lOd, for value of goods supplied to the defendant by the estate of B. Simpson. The defence set up by Mr Williams waß that all the goods were given by Louisson, ono of the plaintiffs, to the defendant as presents. Several witnesses were examined, and ultimately the caso was adjourned to the 25th instant. - Judgments for full amount and costs were riven in the following cases : —Stark v Orton —£6$ IBs lOd. Pavitt v Tunnook—£23. Bailey vKeiley—£2s 8s 4d. Pratt v Parker— £31128. Smith v Hellish—£4 15s. Judgment for defendant.* , . - In the case of Cooksey v Fooks, claim for £217s for wages, judgment was given for £18 17s. Lake v Middleton—£44 7s. Judgment for £39 4s. Middleton v Lake—£72 _3 sd. Judgment for £51 9s 2d.
