LITERARY INSTITUTE.

TO THE EDITOR OP THE PBESS. Sir,-—ln order to make the Institute more suitable for the requirements of the public, it is necessary to expend a large sum of money to and to the library and improve the internal accommodation of the building. The committee have not been successful in raising the necessary fands for this purpose, much less to pay the large amount of interest due to the shareholders, and as there seems to be a feeling abroad that the committee have not sufficiently exerted themselves in the matter, some of the committeetnen have resolved to resign their appointments at the next quarterly meeting at the end of March, thinking also that a partial reconstruction of the committee would be desirable to the interest of the Institute. A Membeb.
