Post Chaxmbbs—Feb 12,1120 am, Airedale from Lyttelton. Wellington—Feb 10, Alhambra from Nelson; 715 pm, Alhambra for Lyttelton. Thee s Phoebe, Captain Wheeler, sailed at Ipm yesterday for Wellington and northern ports. The Blue Jacket had not sailed when our despatch left Lyttelton last night, but will do so this day should the wind prove favourable. The following ie a summary of her manifest, the particulars of which appeared in our last issue:— Wool, 4646 bales, 1,559,949 lbs ... £65,873 Skins, 15 bales, 1405 skins 148 Flax and tow, 74 bales, 21,112 lbs ... 250 Cotton, 61 bales, 18001bs 900 Tallow, 21 casks, 5 tons 5 cwts. ... 157 Gold, 15 boxes, 15,736 oz 16 dwts ... 63,390 Total value of cargo .. .£130,218 From a private source we learn that according to latest advices the well-known steamship Albion is still trading on the Japan coast, and has given great satisfaction to travellers by her. She was to be fitted with six ten-pounder guns, and was shortly expected to be sold to the Japanese. Captain Kidney was about to leave and proceed to England; and a Captain Dunn, an American, was to take the command. So many steamers trading on the coast of Japan have given an impetus to the coal trade, and lately there were two large vessels purchased for hulks. The Panama Company's steamship Otago, we learn by letters by the mail, has been sold by the mortgagee in London to a mercantile firm there, having a branch in Japan. It was intended that she should leave this port immediately for Japan, but a difficulty arises in consequence of local claims ageinet the ship for stores not having been satisfied. There is also an action against her in the Vice-Admi-ralty Court for coals supplied to her, and she is, in fact, in possession of the sheriff in connexion with this action. When and how these impediments to the Otago's proceeding to sea will be got over, it ia difficult to say. In the meantime, we observe tbat she has been offered for sale by the Melbourne representatives of the London owners.—•" Argus."
