To collect and diffuse statistical information, and endeavour, by public meetings and all other lawful means, to induce the people of both Islands to petition her Majesty and the Imperial Parliament to rev ice the Constitution, and thereby obtain separate legislatures for the Northern and Middle It-lands, with a Federal Congress for the establishment of a Customs Tariff; the maintenance of the public credit by payment of interest and sinking fund on Colonial Loanß ; the management of the Marine Postal Services ; and providing for and conducting external defence.
