[By Interprovincial Telegraph.] "Wellington, December 10, 4.40 p.m. !N"othing has occurred since the steamer left. A rumour i 9 current that the Auckland dividends will be paid by.the Colo-? nial Treasury. 7.5 p.m. Grove, of Tuapeka, has been prospecting near Terawiti for the past three -weeks-with three other men, partly at the cost of the Government. He reports having found afield sufficiently rich to give six shillings a day for a few hundred men. He will leave again dhjectly for a month. The gold is said to be found in creeks. There is.no quartz. The neighbourhood has been prospected so often already that the public are sceptical as to the field being a payable one. , n i i i i
