CITY COUNCIL MEETING.
TO EDITOR OV THE PBESS. Slß,—Allow irie to draw your attention to your report of the City Council of to-day's "ate, in which I am made to say " many streets were in a very fair condition, and all that was would be to have the footpaths '■wmed."
'Ibis is bo far contrary from what I did say that it was at my suggestion Mr Jameson, in Ws motion, defined the lengths of the streets which are to be formed. I further stated thai "t- Asaph street, from Barba loes street eastW.rd, could not be economically made wi hout at. the same time forming some of the othet streets that will require to be reduced iv height, *
I don't think any animus to any member of the Council can be imputed to your reporter, but I must say that tho report - of the p-o endings of the Council are too often laid before the public in a very 100-e munier. I am, sir, yours truly, Andrew Duxcan. Chri«fchurch, November 26 18'>7.
