EXPORTATION OF WHEAT.
The following is an extract from a letter received by Messrs Miles and Co. from Mr Frederick Bunks, and dated London, September 28, 1867 : — Our Corn Broker here informs us that any quantity of go >d so md wheat, such a* that ri<;t'iv t ;j per Mato.ika. arriving litre between this time and next, vlsiy in perfect condition can scarcely fail to result in a good profit if lai.l rlowu in London ut, fiOs to 63s per qairter. freight, included. The yield of the English wheat harvest has been much over estimated, mid the tenor of all f -reign advices shows that prices will not be lower for some time to Ciirae. The came will hold good to flour, but we hardly recommend your friends to ship any of the latt>-r, a* it is so difficult to land it in eOunc!"Coedition"ffo-n so long a voyage. Fine sample* of wheat are now quoted at the London Corn Exchange as worih 72s per quarter, and flour per sack of 2801bs. 52a. The following extract from a letter received from Stephen Harding, Esq., and dated Bristol, September 30, 18R7, has been handed to us by Messrs Miles ami Co.: — Wheat is n>w selling here at 8s per bushel. Flnalami can take all the wheat grown in New Zealand exported directly after next harvest, but you must not calculate her to do so often, as the. prices hero would not generally pay you ; but. if you would convert it into pork and bat-on, whiuli you could well do, you would always find a good market for it. 1 have fed pigs upon wheat here when it has been worth 4s a bushel, and found it to pay.
