FARMERS' CLUB. A PUBLIC MEETING will be held at the Market Hall, Cathedral-equare, Chriatchurch, on SATURDAY, November 30, 1867, at three o'clock p.m., for the purpose of confirming the establishment of the Canterbury Farmers' Club, receiving and adopting roles and regulations for conducting business, electing officers and committee, enrolling members, and other matters. N.B—The rules and regulations now framed are of a liberal character, the objects of the promoters comprising a general diffusion of knowledge on agricultural subjects, by encouraging debates and lectures (to be open to all members of similar clubs), and a general interchange of experience ; to open and maintain correspondence with kindred societies in Britain, the British colonies, America, &o. ; securing suitable books, periodicals and papers for the uee of member*; to assist in the formation of similar clubs in outlying districts, and in connection with them the collection and compilation of such cropping and other statistieial information as may prove desirable; also, for simultaneously distributing informattation and effecting united action on matters effecting the agricultural community.
