Posted at any Post-office within the colony for delivery at or from any Post-office in any other province within the colony— Not exceeding half-an-ounce ... Threepence. Exceeding half-an-ounce but not exceeding one ounce ... ... Sixpence. For every ounce or fraction of an ounce over one ounce ... Sixpence. NEWSPAPERS For places within the colony, the Australian Colonies, and the United Kingdom, via Suez and Southampton, are chargeable with a rate of one penny on each. Newspapers for the United Kingdom, via Panama and Marseilles, one penny each. In consequence of newspapers being frequently posted in packages of more thau one number, the same are detained at the Chief Post-office, andattention is called to the fo lowing postal regulation :—

"Newspapers for transmission within the colony shall be posted in single numbers, so put up that the date of publication may be readily seen. Packages of newspapers consisting of more than one number, shall be treated as book packets." From this date the postage on newspapers for the United Kingdon (via Panama,) will be one penny each in place of threepence as heretofore. F. E. Weight, Chief Postmaster.
