THE TELEGRAPH COMMISSIONER is prepared to receire T-EHDifirtO for the SUPPLY and DELIVERY of one thousand (1000) TELEGRAPH ARMS, as follows:— The arms to be cut from the heart of black birch or stringy bark. ' The arms to be delivered at the General Government Telegraph-office, Christchurch. The arms to be twenty-seven (27) inches in length, two and a-half inches wide, and two and a-quarter inches thick —that is, 2£ x 2\ inches. The arms to be bored for bolts and insulators j with a five-eighth auger, as per pattern, being one hole in centre through the greatest depth of wood, and two holes, one at each end of arm, through the least thickness of wood. The arms to be rounded for carrying off water, as per pattern. The whole of the arms to be delivered within thirty days of signing the contract. Each tender must be accompanied by a deposit of £5 as a guarantee of good faith, which sum will be forfeited should any tenderer refuse to Bign the contract in the event of his tender being accepted. The usual sureties will be required of the accepted tenderer. Patterns may be seen, and further particulars obtained, at the General Government Telegraph-office, Christchurch. Tenders, addressed " The Telegraph Engineer, Wellington," and endorsed " Tender for one thousand telegraph arms," to be sent in not later than Thursday, the 7th of November next. I HEREBY GIVE NOTICE pursuant to Clause VI. of " The Canterbury Waste Lands Act, 1866," that an application was lodged in the Land Office, Christchurch, on the Bth inatant, by George Gray Russell, as holder of Pasturage License No. 539, Class 3, to have a separate license issued by the Waste Lands Board to Edward Elworthy of that portion of land described in the aforesaid license, situated to the eastward of the White Rock River, and containing 7500 acres or thereabouts ; and a separate license issued to the said George Gray Russell of the remaining portion of the said run, situated to the northward and westward -of the White Rock River. If any person can show cause why such separate licenses as aforesaid should not be issued, the same must be made known to the Waste Lands Board before the 12th day of December next.
