POST-OFFICE NOTICE
On and after the Ist January, the Oxford and Moeraki Downs mails will close at Christchurch at 8 a.m. every Tuesday and Friday, instead of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday ; and for Hurunui at 8 a.m. every Monday, instead of Mondays and Wednesdays, as heretofore.
From, this date the postage on newspapers for the United Ittngdon (via Panama,) will be on,e penny eaph in place of threepence as heretofore. .
On and after Monday, the 29th' instant, the mails /or Timaru .and South road will close at 7a.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The. mails from that date will be two days on the journey, until further notice. On and after January 1, 1867, late letters for Hokjtika arid Greymouth, by pajmeot of ah extra sixpenny stamp upon each letter, can be posted at the Chief Post-office,"Christ-church, till 10 ip.m. every Monday and Thursday ; and for Timaru, till 10 p.m. every Monday* .
