LYTTELTON MUNICIPAL COUNCIL.
The members of the Council met at the usual hour on Monday evening. Present— Messrs Ward (chairman), Grubb, Tayler, Willcox, and Wilkin. The business transacted was not of £.n important character. The Council proposed removing the Police-barracks to another site. The Clerk was instructed to write to the Government, requesting a further instalment of tho amount voted for Sumner road. The Inspector of Nuisances furnished his report, which contained notices to some persons to remove nuisances. The sums received were—for rents, £7 10a ; rates, £23 6s 10,1. Paid—weekly pay-sheet, £16 14s 4d; England Brothers, kerosene and timber, £24 2s 3d; J. Merson, timber for lining bathing-shed, £4 10s ; Wm. Rayner, for printing pay and work sheets, &c, £5 ; total, £50 6s 7d. The meeting then adjourned till the 17th instant, at six p.m.
