For the information of our readers, we republish from the General Government Gazette the new rates of postage which come in force on and after the Ist of January :— I.—Town Lettebs. Posted at any Post-office within the colony for delivery at or from such Post-office — Not exceeding half-an-ounce ... Onepenny. Exceeding half-«m-ounce but not exceeding one ounce ... ... Twopence. For every ounce or fraction of an ounce over one ounce ... Twopence. 11. COUHTBT LBTTEE3. Posted at any Post-office within the colony for delivery at or from any other Post-office within the same province— "*■ Not exceeding half-an-ounce ... Twopence. Exceeding ha'f-an-ounce but not exceeding one ounce ... ... Fourpence. For every ounce or fraction of an ounce over one ounce ... Fourpence. llL—lntjebpbovikoial Lettees. Posted at any Post-office within the colony for delivery at or from any Post-office in any other province within the colony— Not exceeding half-an-ounce ... Threepence. Exceeding half-an-ounce but not exceeding one ounce ... ... Sixpence. For every ounce or fraction of an ounce over one ounce ... Sixpence.
