The ship Mermaid sailed for London yesterday morning at half-pastsoven o'clock. Inreply to a question, Mr Hepburnsaid that lie delivery Of the' five" boats was not guaranteed, nur was anything else: hut one boat was certainly all right at Port Chalmers. There was a telegram from the mate, dated Kriday evening, in which he said, •*I hate just been on board, and there,is no perceptible change in her'condition:" Nothing had been heard ; of the condition of the wreck since then.— The first bid was £100; and, in advances of | £5, the sum ran .;At tliat price, • the "lot" was knocked down, the purchaser being Mr J.
