TELEGRAMS
From the placard outside the TelegrapL Station we publish tho following arrivals, viz.:— Wellington. Arrived—March 31 — 5.30 p.m., Claud Hamilton from Nelson. Post Chalmbbs. Arrived—April I—7 a.m., M. A. Christina from Timaru, and Dunedin from Oaraaru ; 4 c.m., Annie, schooner, from Oamaru ; 8 a.m., Hope, Bchooner, from Waikouaiti; 9 a.m., William Miskin from Hokitika ; noon, Driver, bnrque, from Newcastle; 1 p.m., Leonidas, Bchooner, from Melbourne via Bluff.
The s.s. Wainui, Captain Driver, arrived in Port at eight p.m. on Sunday, March 31. She left Port Chalmers at four p.m. on the 28th, and arrived at Oamaru at eleven p.m. the same day. Experienced a heavy south-east sea on the 29th. The A. W. Stevens on that day parted her moorings, and stood out to sea. *The Wainui left Oamaru at six p.m. on the 29th, and arrived at Timaru on the 30th at two am. Sailed again the same day at four p.m., and arrived at Akaroa the next day at six a.m., whence she sailed the same day at eleven a.m., and airived as above. The ketch Pearl, in crossing the Kaiapoi bar on Sunday last, is reported to have gone ashore on the North spit.
