Alexander Jordan was brought up in custody, charged witli being drunk and riotous in the Bush Inn, and also with assaulting and resisting tho police in the execution of their duty. After he (ring the evidence the Resident Magistrate fined prisoner £1 for riotous conduct, and sentenced him to fourteen days' imprisonment with hard labor on the other charge. Philip Jones appeared on bail to answer a charge of uttering valueless cheques. On the application of the police prisoner was remanded until this morning at eleven a.m. There were several cases of debt over £20, but none were of any public interest.
