Wednesday, January 9. The Speaker took the chair shortly after five. Present —All the members except Messrs Buckley, Delamain, Dixon, Garrick, Gray, Hall. Johnstone, Knight, Maude, Mallock, J. S. Wilhams. Prayers having been read by the Very Rev. the Chaplain, the minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. BILLS ASSENTED TO. The Speaker announced a message from his Honor, intimating his assent on behalf of the Governor, to the following Bills :—Stanmore Road Bridge Bill, Cass Pension Bill, and Fire Ordinance Amendment Bill. BCREW PILB JETTY. Mr Hargreaves brought up the report of the Select Committee on the Screw Pile Jetty, Lyttelton, with the evidenoe adduced, and laid also on the table a model of the screw piles used in the construction of the jetty. | The report was read and ordered to be printed.
