Sailed—Claud Hamilton for Nelson; Taranaki for Melbourne ; Phoebe for the Bluff. (By Interprovincial Submarine Telegraph.) Wellington, Thursday, 4.55 p.m. The Governor proceeds to Wanganui in the steamer Sturt to-morrow night. Warrants were signed on Tuesday for the execution of Burgess, Kelly and Levy. Sullivan's sentence is commuted to penal servitude for life. The Diocesan Synod opened on Tuesday. The Euahine has not arrived from Panama. She is supposed to have gone to Callao for coal. The new Postal Act was considered in committee on Tuesday night, and the clause imposing stamps on newspapers passed on division by 24 to 23. The Act is to come in force on the first of January. The Stamp Duties Bill was read a second time on Tuesday and committed on Wednesday. A Bill for imposing a duty on distillation of spirits was read a first time on Tuesday. Mr Burns' motion for the removal cf the port of call for the Panama 1 steamers was lost by a majority of 9, the division being 22 to 31. Mr James Williamson's amendment against the imposition of a tax on Bank note 3 was lost on a division, there being 13 for and 33 against it.
