THE New Additions to the Christchurch Female Home being now completed, a larger number of inmates can be received, and invalids from the country can also be accommodated. For terms, apply to Mbs Ritchie, Matron. Subscribers are earnestly requested to pay their subscriptions for last year as soon as possible. A repository for fancy and plain needlework has been opened at tho Home for those desirous of adding to limited means, or to assist the funds of the Institution. The rules are as follows : — 1. That the working members must be of respectable character. j 2. That the working members pay 2s 6d a year towards the expense of the repository ; also, a deduction of one penny in the shilling upon all work sold. 3. That the names of working members be entered only in the Matron's private book, each being supplied with a cipher or number, which she is required to mark legibly on the price-ticket attached to every article of work she sends. 4. The designs to be for either a wooden or an iron structure, and the bridge to be erected and maintained at the expense of the contractor, who will be guaranteed the exclusive right of tolls, according to a fixed schedule of rates, for a term of fourteen years.
