Miscellaneous. COURTENAY EDUCATIONAL DISTRICT, COAL TRACK. A MEMORIAL having beon presented to tho Board of Education from a considerable portion of the inhabitants of tho Courtenay district (as hereinafter described), stating that no provision has been roado for public school education in tho said district, and praying for the erection of such district into a separate educational district, I hereby give notice, in accordance with tho provisions of tho " Educational Ordinance, 186-4," that a public meeting of the owners and occupiers of land, and householders resident in tho said distriot, will bo held on Monday, tho 3rd day of September, 1866, at seven o'clock p.m., at Mr White's accommodation-house, on tho Coal Track, for tho purposo of ascertaining whether such owners, occupiers, and householders are willing that tho said district should bejformed into an educational di&trict: Also, for ascertaining whether such owners, occupiers, aud householders aro willing to provide the proportion of tho annual oxpenoea of an educational district, to bo paid by such district, as provided by tho "Education Ordinance, 1864." THE LYTTELTON MUNICIPAL COUNCIL having struck a rate of Fourpence ( 4d) in the Pound.on the existing rate roll for 1866, hereby notify that the aforesaid roll is open for inspection at the Council office, * Town Hall, Lyttelton, between the hours of ten a.m. and four p.m. daily, except Saturday, when the office is closed at two p.m. If any person whoso name shall be on suoh roll shall object thereto, on the ground that . he has ceased to be liable to be rated in respect - of any property for which in such roll ho is proposed to be rated, he shall give notice of : such objection, and of tbe grounds thereof, to ; the Clerk of the Council three (3) clear days at least before Monday, the 17th September, 1866, upon which day the Council will hear and determine such objections at twelve o'clock, noon, in the Council Chamber.
