CUST EDUCATIONAL DISTRICT, MOERAKI DOWNS. A MEMORIAL having been presented to l\. the Board of Education from a considerable portion of the inhabitants of the Cust district (as hereinafter described), stating that no provision has been made for public school education in the said district, and praying for the erection of such district into a separate educational district, I hereby give notice, in accordance with the provisions of the "Education Ordinance, 1864," that a public meeting of the owners and occupiers of land, and householders resident in the said district, will be held on Tuesday, the 11th day of September, 1866, at seven o'clock p.m., at " Messent's Accommodation-house," on the Cust, for the purpose of ascertaining whether such owners, occupiers, and householders are willing that the said district should be formed into an educational district: Also, for ascertaining whether such owners, occupiers, and householders are willing to provide the proportion of the annual expenses of an educational district, to be paid by such district, as provided by the " Education Ordi nance, 1864." The following is the description of the proposed distriot:—Commencing at the junction of the western boundary of the Fernside Educational District with the south bank of the River Ashley, following the said boundary southerly to the Harewood and Rangiora road, thence westerly to the eastern boundary of the Cust Road Board district, following said boundary southward till it meets the boundary of the Eyretown Educational district, following this latter boundary westward and southward to the north bank of the River Eyre, following said bank westward to the Western boundary of Run No. 14, thence following this boundary northward to the Cust Main Drain Reserve, and a line in continuation of said boundary drawn straight to the south bank of the River Ashley, thence following this bank to the commencing point.
