OTAGO. The " Daily Ernes," of the 9th instant, reports :— Business has opened this week with a fair •mount of activity, observable, however, more amongst second nooses than with importers ; consequently, though there is plenty doing in miscelaoeous trade, very few operations of any special interest are on foot. In the flour market, matters are stationary as to value ; the stock, however, has been increased by the arrival of the ship Emma, with a cargo of the first of tiie new flour of the fitvorite Ramps brand, the superior quality of which will, no doubt, command a quick sale. The last intelligence from Melbourne has induced holders of both •ugan and teas to hold firmly, and will possibly cause an advance in prices. At the present moment there are parties disposed to speculate, bat no transactions which may be considered outside of trade parcels have transpired. Kerosene has improved in value; 4s 3d may be quoted as the holding price.
