RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

Cheistchtjhch— May 10. [Before"C. C. Bowen, Esq., R.M.] J. E. Brown, W. H. Stevens and J. Brighting were fined 5s for being the owners of cattle wandering at large in Christohurch. Henry Cutler, who did not appear, was fined 10s for a like offence. Edwin White was fined £3, and costs £14s, for rescuing cattle from George Sandry whilst being driven to the public pound. J. Bosewarne was fined £25 for driving sheep across a run without giving the requisite notice. John Kobinson, for using abusive language towards Joseph Straus, was fined 20s.
