SYDNEY.
Wβ have Sydney papers to the 22nd met. The « HeraH " has the following report :— Business during the month, has been rather clack, and with the exception of some large transactions ia flour, teae, and aogara, the eales of other articles of deilr consumption hare been limifed, and generally eonfiaed to meet
present requirements. Our trade with the neighbouring colonies of Queensland and New Zealand continues good, and tends to relieve us of our surplus stocks. We subjoin the latest report of our markets, Flour.— This market since the departure of the August mail has been in a disturbed state, and it is difficult to give current quotations. As compared with the prices ruling last month, there is a decline of about 10* per ton on Chilian flour, the present price being £18 10s to £19 per ton. Adelaide is still quoted at £21 10a to £22 per ton. We hare had during the month no less than thirteen vessels from Chili, with cargoes amounting to about 6,000 tons of wheat and flour, a portion of which has been forwarded to the neighboring colonies, fiut notwithstanding these large supplies, in addition to what has been received from Adelaide, the market has been sustained through the combination of certain parties who have bought up almost every cargo that has arrived. Our stocks at present are estimated at six or seven weeks' consumption, and we may shortly expect some cargoes from California, the harvest there being abundant; and as there are still several vessels to arrive from the West Coast, it is not likely that any sudden rise in prices can take place or be maintained. Wheat is steady, and prices rule nearly the same as last month. Adelaide, 9s 6d to 9s 9d; Chilian, 8s 6d per bushel.
