CONVEYANCE OF MAILS. rfTENDERS will be received at the Chief Post X Office, Christcburch, until noon on the 18th day of June, 1865, for the conveyance of the undermentioned mails :— 1. Between Giggs , , on the Selwyn, and Snowdon once a week for eighteen months j from the Ist day of July, 1865, to the 31st December, 1866. 2. Between Christchurch and the township of Hokitika, West Coast, via Arthur sPass, once a week for six months from the Ist day of July to the 31st day of December, 1865. Tenders also to state the amount for which they would carry the mail fortnightly. Time on the journey not to exceed four days either way (weather permitting). Letters only will be forwarded by this mail, and the weight will be limited to 301bs. Particulars as to the state of the road, &c., can be obtained by applying to the Chief Postmaster.
