LYTTELTON MUNICIPAL COUNCIL.

The ratepayers met in the Town Hall yesterday at noon, to elect one member in the room of T. M. Gee, resigned; and four members in the room of Mesere. Macpherson, Ward, Rensliaw, and Walker, who retire, out eligible for re-electior. Dr. Donald was in the chair. For the office vacated by Mr. T. M. Gee, Mr. Balestiee and Mr. T. Mereon were nominated, and upon a show of hands being taken, Mr. Merson was declared duly elected. Messrs. Ward, IT. Macphereon, F. LeOren, T. Ritchie, W. Day, E. A. Hargreaves, Balestiee, Fairhurst, Grange^R. Davis and Dunsford -were nominated for the four seats vacant, and upon the show of hands being taken it was pronounced in favor of Messrs. Balestiee, U. Macpherson, Hargreaves and LeCren. A poll was demanded on behalf of the other candidates, which will take place this day from 10 a m. to 4 p.m. Messrs. Kissling, Woledge and Wilcox were appointed auditors.
